A zirconia crown is a fixed dental restoration prepared from zirconium dioxide-based ceramic material without a metal substructure. Thanks to its tissue-compatible structure and light transmission properties, it provides an esthetic appearance close to that of natural teeth. It is one of the treatment options considered for anterior restorations, color changes, shape irregularities, wear and size differences that need correction. Treatment planning begins with an intraoral examination, radiographic assessment and, when needed, intraoral scanning. The dentist selects the suitable material and technique based on tooth structure, gum tissue, occlusal relationship and the patient's expectations. The color, shape and size of the restoration are planned in harmony with the patient's facial features. The clinical phase begins with the appropriate preparation of the tooth surface. After preparation, an impression is taken or a digital scan is performed. In the dental laboratory, the zirconia substructure is produced using CAD/CAM technology and a porcelain layer is applied on top. Temporary restorations are used to protect the teeth during the preparation period. Once the final restorations have been tried in and checked for proper position, they are fixed with adhesive cement. Oral hygiene after treatment is important for maintaining a healthy relationship between the zirconia crowns and the surrounding tissues. Daily brushing, use of dental floss and interdental brushes, regular check-ups and professional cleanings support the harmony of the restorations with the tissues. Dietary habits involving hard and sticky foods are among the aspects to consider for long-term follow-up. Each patient's treatment plan is individual.
